LESSONS:
Lesson 1 - Orientation
Scripture: Matthew 6:25-34; Matthew 17:24-27
Whose money is it really? Here at Money University, you’ll learn that it’s
God who provides everything we have.
The Bible says a lot about money, wealth, and possessions – and their relationship to our spiritual health. At Money University you will learn about the godly way to be money-wise. We need to put God first and He will provide everything we need.
Lesson 2 - Earning Money
Scripture: Colossians 3:23
Work is how we earn money. It’s not always easy, and it’s not always fun, but work is a blessing from God that allows us to provide for others and ourselves. Work also gives us a chance to share our faith. When we develop an extra mile attitude, we can show people the love of Jesus through our work - and that’s something far more valuable than money!
Lesson 3 - Giving Money
Scripture: Proverbs 3:9-10, 27-28, 22:9; Matthew 14:13-21
Giving is a great way to show God we love him. God can take even the smallest gifts and multiply them to do great things. The Bible encourages us to SHARE generously by giving our tithe and giving to those in need. God doesn’t want us to wait for someone else to do it. He wants all of us to give what we can!
Lesson 4 -Saving Money
Scripture: Proverbs 21:20; Luke 14:28
Saving money is good stewardship. It prepares us for the challenges and expenses we don’t expect, and it helps us save up for things we want. The sooner we start saving, the more we will have to spend on those things later on, and the easier saving will be when we are grown.
Lesson 5 - Spending Money
Scripture: Matthew 26:6-13
We all make choices when we spend money, and the choices we make determine if we are wise shoppers. We need to consider our wants vs. our needs, and prices, so that we can be wise managers of the money God gives us!
